"God and the Origin of the Universe" is my topic of choice for my research paper. As I study Nutrition, it has become more clear to me that God exists and is creator of the universe. Every since I can remember in school, science has always been one of my favorite subjects. Whenever the topic of how man and the universe came into existance, evolution and the Big Bang Theory were the only theories discussed. On the site http://www.allaboutthejourney.org/origin-of-life.htm brought up quite a few intersting questions about evolution such as: "How can nothing explode?", "Where did the mathematical laws and physical properties come from?", and "Where did the language convention that interprets DNA come from?". These questions can not be explained in evolution while creationism can.
Another issue with evolution is the lack of evidence involving the transitional form of fossil records. As Darwin claims, over a period of time gradually we will see a change in the fossil record. An example of this is the fish to amphibian-fin to feet, it proves that a fish can not transition into an amphibian because "The fish has a small pelvis that are embedded in muscle and not connected to the backbone unlike tetrapod amphibians which have large pelvises that are firmly connected to the vertebral column. Lastly, the Second Law of Thermodynamics contradicts evolution which http://www.icr.org/index.php?module=articles&action=view&ID=245 stated on their websites, "Entropy" which in physics indicates that the whole universe of matter is running down, and ultimately will reduce itself to uniform chaos." Evolution does the opposite, it is supposed to be a universal law of increasing complexity. These questions and examples are seemingly to complexed to be answered by science alone. While in discussion with a fellow classmate I asked the question could God and science coexist, they responded "No". It is my opinion that they can and do.

God and the Origin of the Universe Video Blog
I chose these videos because, they relate to my topic perfectly. In the first video not only does it show the beauty of the universe, but the precision of mathematics and physics it took to keep all the elements of the universe from complete chaos. In order to be able create something this wonderful and magnitudinous, it takes such a superb amount of intelligence; and can only take place at the hands of an awesome creator, who can create something from nothing. This video in my opinion has to be one of the best examples of God's existence.
The second video talks about the "Big Bang Theory" by Dr. William Lane Craig. In this clip he explains how the complexity of the universe is to incomprehensible for the theory to be plausible. Dr. Craig points out three alternatives for the origin of the universe:
1. Natural Law
2. Chance
3. Design

The two chapters that I find the most intriguing are "God and the Origin of the Universe" and "The Meaning of Life".
1. "God and the Origin of the Universe"
Whenever the topic of the existence of God or religion come up it can be rather sensitive issue. Many will argue that science disproves God's existence, while in my opinion it does just the opposite. In the book "Problems from Philosophy" the author first addresses the topic from the creationist views of William Paley, an Anglican clergyman and teacher at Cambridge University. In my opinion he makes a very compelling argument about intelligent design with the explanation of the "watch maker". Some would argue that there is no hard evidence that God exists but, when looking at the universe and all the creations within the earth, we can clearly see the works of intelligent design and how it was methodically planned out.

2. "The Meaning of Life"
This is the most common question that everyone has asked at least once in their life. "What is my purpose?" The answer to this question can vary from person to person. While to a Humanist it can personality determined by humans, completely without supernatural influence, but a Christian might say for God's glory and to spread His gospel to all mankind. Even some of the greatest philosophers were perplexed with the question. In the book "Problems from Philosophy" the author disects the topic into four main sections: happiness, death, religion and the indifferent universe, and the meaning of particular lives. Every section is a key components of how each individual values life. Personally, I believe there is no meaning to life without God, we're just existing.

What is philosophy
The dictionary decribes it as the love of wisdom. I first gained interest in philosophy when I was in high school. I've only read a little about Socrates and other philosophers. I love being enlightened.
